We are finishing up aerifying approaches and fertilizing them today. Next week we are going to aerify large portions of fairways on #3,5,6, and 12. This walk behind aerifier gives us a tighter spacing than we could achieve with a tractor mounted aerifier.
We removed the sod from the lower portion of #15 approach and you can see evidence of many past aerifications. The white dots are the channels of sand that filled the aerification holes.
You can see the work started to correct drainage on #15 approach. The bentgrass sod was stripped and set to the side for reuse. At $1.30 per square foot, it is worth saving every bit we can! The area will play as ground under repair for the time being. We are now hauling fill soil into the area to begin to raise it up.
